REQUIEM "FOR THOSE LEFT BEHIND" EGYPTIAN PREMIERE

Lee Bradshaw’s new, large-scale choral work, Requiem “For Those Left Behind”, was commissioned in 2024 by Nayer Nagui and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Orchestra.
The piece will be performed in Egypt on September 18 & 19, featuring the Bibliotheca Orchestra and the Celebration Choir Cairo, under the direction of Nayer Nagui.
These performances coincide with the 75th anniversary of Egyptian-Australian diplomatic relations, making this premiere both a musical and cultural milestone.
A NEW STRING OCTED: A TRIBUTE TO MANNY ARCARO

The Flinders Quartet and the Australian Youth Orchestra come together to present a new String Octet by Lee Bradshaw, tentatively titled 4 Rooms.
This four-movement work is dedicated in memoriam to Manny Arcaro and delves into different facets of mental illness, capturing its complexities through music. The premiere is scheduled for October, promising an intimate and profound musical experience.
BRAMENPLUKKER: A DUTCH FAIRY TALE REIMAGINED

A new collaborative work featuring Dutch saxophonist and Australian actor Richard Piper, Bramenplukker (Blackberry Picker) is inspired by a modern fairy tale by Godfried Bomans.
At its heart, the work examines the delicate balance between nature and capitalism, the virtues and perils of innocence, and the insidious pull of greed - timeless themes refracted through the lens of fable.

BLACK LION FESTIVAL – A NEW THREE-DAY FESTIVAL IN LONDON

Set against the historic backdrop of St Peter’s in Hammersmith, London, the Black Lion Festival debuts as a three-day celebration of chamber music and choral works.
The festival brings together Stefan Cassemenos, The West London Chamber Choir and Hilary Campbell, The Choir of St Peter’s and organist Travis Baker, and the Cirrus String Quartet, in a program featuring Beethoven, Fauré, Prokofiev, and Lee Bradshaw.
ZARQA – A DOCUMENTARY BY CHRIS PIOTROWICZ

Filmmaker Chris Piotrowicz documents the journey of Lee Bradshaw’s opera Zarqa Al Yamama, following the Dresdner Sinfoniker as they bring this ambitious work to life in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Through interviews with Lee Bradshaw, Dame Sarah Connolly, and Saleh Zamanan, the documentary provides an intimate look at the artistic and logistical challenges of staging an opera in a country where the art form is still emerging.
It captures the cultural exchange, creative vision, and determination required to realize this landmark production.
